Pancho Villa Statue – Palomas Mexico

The Columbus New Mexico Port of Entry is a significant international border crossing connecting Columbus, New Mexico, with Palomas, Chihuahua, Mexico. Established in 1902, it has a rich history, including being damaged during Pancho Villa’s 1916 raid.

The port operates 24 hours a day and is located at the southern end of New Mexico State Road 11 (NM 11). The current border inspection station, constructed in 2018 by the General Services Administration, replaced the previous 1989 facility. This modern infrastructure supports efficient processing of travelers and goods.

Highlighting its role in cross-border commerce facilitator, the port processes more than 300,000 cars and 250,000 pedestrians annually.  It also serves as a critical trade goods facilitator, processing an average of 25,000 commercial vehicles annually.
